Fall of Freedom

With Fall of Freedom, Artists across America are mobilizing for democracy, Nov. 20-21, 2025.

A Nationwide Call to Creative Resistance

Fall of Freedom is a national creative resistance launching November 20–21, 2025.

Yesterday, a national coalition of high-profile artists announced something extraordinary: Fall of Freedom, a coordinated uprising of creative resistance beginning November 20-21, 2025.

This isn’t just another art initiative. It’s an urgent mobilization.

Why Now

Democracy is under attack. Threats to free expression are multiplying. Dissent is being criminalized. Institutions and media outlets that once served the public interest have been transformed into instruments of propaganda.

In moments like these, artists have always been among the first to sound the alarm—and among the first targeted for speaking truth.

What’s Happening

This fall, artists across all disciplines are activating a nationwide wave of creative resistance. Galleries, museums, libraries, comedy clubs, theaters, and concert halls will host exhibitions, performances, and public events that channel the urgency of this moment.

This is about more than bearing witness. It’s about celebrating the experiences, cultures, and identities that fascism seeks to erase. It’s about reminding ourselves and each other what we’re fighting for.

Why Artists Matter

Art has always been a threat to authoritarianism. It asks questions power doesn’t want asked. It tells stories propaganda tries to silence. It imagines futures that tyrants insist are impossible.

Artists are a threat to American fascism.

That’s not rhetoric. That’s history repeating itself, and it’s why this moment demands we show up.

Join the Movement

Fall of Freedom is an open invitation to artists, creators, and communities nationwide. Whether you’re a painter, musician, writer, comedian, dancer, filmmaker, or simply someone who believes in the power of creative expression—there’s a place for you in this movement.

Art matters. Now more than ever.

Will you be part of this?
