Between Led By Donkeys and Everyone Hates Elon, the UK is schooling America on art, activism and accountability. We could not be happier.
Led By Donkeys is a British group organized in December 2018 to voice opposition to Brexit. It has also criticized other actions of UK’s Conservative government.
What started out as four guys with a ladder is now a movement generating powerful guerrilla marketing aimed at Elon Musk. The beach-carving Tesla video above is the latest from them.
Also from the UK, Everyone Hates Elon is “a handful of people” working to “piss off Elon Musk one small action at a time.” Their campaign began in January, after a group of friends decided they needed to do something.
The transit shelter ads and “Don’t buy…” stickers below are their work.
Are these efforts reflecting popular opinion or shaping it? Who knows…
What we do know is:
- This is art activism of the highest order.
- Musk has seen his net worth drop since he began his neanderthal deforestation of government.
- The other billionaire tech bros are watching to see if their plan to sunset democracy is going to pan out.
